Understanding Error Messages

Error messages are most useful when you treat them as context, not as the full diagnosis. In SoulShine, most errors will point to one of a few broad issue types: authentication, connectivity, missing context, or blocked behavior tied to safety and workflow rules.

Useful Questions to Ask

  • What were you trying to do when the error appeared?
  • Did this happen once or repeatedly?
  • Is the issue tied to one channel, one user, or one workflow?
  • Did anything change right before the issue started?

What to Capture Before Contacting Support

  • The exact error message text
  • A screenshot if one is available
  • The channel or workflow involved
  • The time the issue occurred
  • The result you expected instead

Best Practice

Do not paraphrase the error if you can avoid it. The exact message and the workflow around it are usually enough for support to narrow the issue quickly.
