Configuring Crisis Triage and Pastoral Escalation in Grace
Grace should never be left to improvise on urgent pastoral or safety-sensitive situations. The healthiest setup is one where she can respond gently, recognize risk, and route the person to the right human path quickly.
Conversations That Usually Need Escalation
- Self-harm or suicide language
- Abuse, immediate danger, or emergency situations
- Severe grief, trauma, or mental health distress
- Requests for counseling, discipline, or highly personal pastoral care
- Complex theological conflict your ministry wants handled by a pastor
What to Configure
- Keywords and risk signals that should trigger a handoff
- Default handoff language that is compassionate, calm, and clear
- Emergency guidance including when to direct someone to emergency services or a crisis hotline
- Staff notification path so the right person is alerted after a flag
- After-hours expectations so your team knows what Grace should do outside normal availability
Recommended Review Process
- Test a small set of crisis and non-crisis scenarios internally
- Confirm Grace escalates the right situations without sounding cold or robotic
- Review handoff language with your pastoral team
- Re-test after any major change to your documents or policies
Important Boundary
Grace can support triage and first-line care communication, but she is not a replacement for pastoral judgment, licensed counseling, or emergency response.
